MY VISION FOR ROLLINGWOOD

As a dedicated member of the Rollingwood community, my vision is a city that embraces both tradition and progress, ensuring a high quality of life for all residents. I envision Rollingwood as a place where:

1. PUBLIC SAFETY IS A PRIORITY:
Our community thrives when everyone feels safe. I’m committed to supporting our police with the resources they need for effective patrols and enforcement, protecting life and property, and ensuring Rollingwood remains a safe, walkable neighborhood for all generations—from kids riding their bikes to seniors enjoying a stroll. To truly foster this sense of safety, road safety enhancements and enforcement are essential in creating a neighborhood where the pace of life is just right for everyone who calls Rollingwood home.

2. PROPERTY RIGHTS ARE RESPECTED:
I believe in protecting property rights while ensuring development in Rollingwood is thoughtful and balanced. The council must approach lawmaking with great care, as every decision impacts people's rights. That’s why a comprehensive planning process, with clear and equitable building codes that respect our neighborhood's character and environment, is essential.

3. INFRASTRUCTURE IS RELIABLE:
Maintaining and improving our infrastructure is crucial for our city's long-term prosperity. Essential services like electricity, water, sewer, and roads must be reliably maintained, with bond funding prioritized for these critical projects. Additionally, nurturing public spaces through careful management of the right-of-way and expanding the shared tree canopy will help preserve the natural beauty and character of our community.

4. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IS STRONG:
I’m committed to making Rollingwood a place where every voice is respected. Listening, learning, and considering different perspectives are key to good governance and sound decision-making. On the City Council, I will work closely with residents, staff, and fellow council members to create a welcoming environment, encourage active involvement, and ensure transparent governance.

5. ECONOMIC GROWTH AND VIBRANT BUSINESS DISTRICT:
I want to work with the Rollingwood Community Development Corporation (RCDC) to grow our business district and implement the Comprehensive Plan, adding walkable restaurants and retail that enhances our lifestyle and generates tax revenue to keep residential taxes down. Additionally, I aim to improve safety measures and infrastructure on Edgegrove, addressing the low water crossing and ensuring safe pedestrian access to and from the business district.

6. FAMILIES AND NEIGHBORS THRIVE:
Preserving Rollingwood's natural beauty and small-town charm, even as downtown Austin grows, is essential. I am committed to maintaining our park's unique, peaceful character for everyone, whether they're enjoying Little League games or spending time with their four-legged friends. I support creating spaces and city-sponsored community events that foster a multigenerational environment where families, individuals, and pets can all thrive together, eliminating conflict points and ensuring that everyone feels welcome.

7. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP IS PROMOTED:
By maintaining our city right-of-way, protecting green spaces, and safeguarding and expanding our community tree canopy, we can ensure that Rollingwood remains a green, welcoming haven for all ages. Additionally, I will work to connect our bike and pedestrian facilities to the regional trail system, linking parks, neighborhoods, and natural areas to enhance outdoor recreation.

8. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY IS ENSURED:
Effective management of our city's finances is critical to achieving these goals. I advocate for responsible budgeting and investment in projects that provide long-term benefits to our community.

In pursuing this vision, I am committed to working collaboratively with residents, city staff, and fellow council members. Together, we can build a stronger, more united Rollingwood that honors our past while embracing the future. Let's work together to make Rollingwood an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
