Endorsement of Amy Pattillo for Rollingwood City Council

A Visionary Leader Committed to Our CommunityI am honored to endorse Amy Pattillo (rhymes with Armadillo) for Rollingwood City Council. While we are both running for the two available spots in a at-large contested election, and only the two candidates with the most votes will be elected, I sincerely hope that we both earn your support. Amy and I share a strong history of community service, consistently listening to and supporting the values and priorities that matter to our community. Though we don’t always vote the same way on every issue, our shared commitment to considering diverse perspectives has led to thoughtful deliberation and sound decision-making. Together, we aim to ensure all voices are heard as we advocate for Rollingwood’s future.

Amy’s commitment to Rollingwood is clear from her years of service and the meaningful impact she’s made. She was first elected to the council from 2013 to 2015, took a brief break, and then returned from 2018 to 2020, where she continued to contribute significantly to the community.
Rollingwood's Tree Ordinance:
Amy spearheaded the creation of this important ordinance, which I was proud to co-sponsor. It strikes a balanced approach to protecting and managing our tree canopy. The public participation process she developed was truly unparalleled, ensuring that all feedback was included in the planning stages, and during multiple amendment phases, with each idea being individually considered and voted on by both P&Z and City Council. This ordinance is not only the first of its kind to protect our beautiful tree canopy but also a living document, designed to evolve with changes and modifications as new concerns arise.

MoPac South Environmental Study:
Since the projects unveiling in 2013, Amy has worked tirelessly to forge relationships in the county and with people and entities in the transportation community, ultimately becoming an Appointee of the Travis County Commissioners Court, to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) -- the organization in charge of guiding the development of transportation infrastructure in our region.

Public Safety:
As the former Rollingwood Police Department Council Liaison, Amy dedicated herself to enhancing the department by refining policies and procedures, expanding training opportunities, and budgeting for the implementation of new case management software, as well as ensuring the department's compliance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. She also played a key role in implementing step-pay increases, helping the department attract and retain officers. Through her efforts to improve the budgeting process, Amy helped the department to successfully secure the necessary resources to support these initiatives moving forward.
Infrastructure and Transportation:
Amy has played a key role in planning and executing essential infrastructure projects, such as drainage improvements and water system upgrades. In addition to her involvement with the Mopac South Project, she has been deeply engaged in the planning process with TXDOT for the Bee Cave Improvement Project. Amy's efforts were crucial in securing additional safety signage and a flood gauge for the low-water crossing on Bee Cave Road. Most recently, she leveraged her contacts at TXDOT to resolve the signal issue at Walsh Tarleton, alleviating the challenges faced by those making a left turn at that intersection.

Current Roles:
-
Travis County appointee for Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO)
-
Recently completed her role on the Travis County Citizen Bond Advisory Committee
Professional Expertise:
Amy brings a wealth of professional experience as the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for Avec Mode LLC, and as a patent attorney with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Her technical background and analytical mindset make her exceptionally skilled at problem-solving and process improvement.
Vision and Commitment:
Amy has built strong relationships within the city and with external leaders to achieve our common goals. Amy’s dedication to our community is unwavering. She is a passionate and experienced leader who can build consensus and manage long-term projects efficiently.
Amy and I are committed to engaging with our neighbors through block walking, listening to concerns, and discussing the issues that matter most to Rollingwood. We would appreciate your support and votes!
